Temporary Cafe Event Staff

MARKET MANAGER – New York City

Duvel Moortgat USA is internationally recognized as a leader in the high-end luxury beer segment.  We are currently seeking a Market Manager to oversee New York City territory.  The preferred candidate will live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Metro New York City area.  Competitive salary, bonus, car allowance, medical/dental, 401k, and other benefits available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute national sales strategy through effective leadership and management of direct reports.
  • Develop short and long-term, divisional business priorities and identify issues/opportunities across all trade channels.
  • Deliver division shipments, depletion, contribution, and distribution/RoS objectives.
  • Manage divisional spend-to-budget and deliver ROI objectives.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships, ensuring focus and execution against company objectives and provide appropriate feedback and direction based on performance.
  • Develop and execute divisional sales and marketing programming ensuring consistency with company objectives.
  • Deliver execution of strategic brand plans, price positioning, consumer marketing programs, and new product launches.
  • Develop and execute strategic alignment of wholesaler network.

  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports.
  • Manage brand projects, brand budgeting; prepare and present branded presentations to external audiences.
  • Analyze performance to address variances and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Forecast future shipment and depletions trends.
  • Provide management with market intelligence including sales trends, product developments and competitor activity, and recommend strategies to address these trends.
  • Observe all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising, and promotion of malt beverages. 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 10 years of sales experience, including team management, managing distributors and retail, managing chain account activities
  • Experience in managing luxury brands or high-end craft and specialty wine, beer, or spirits brands
  • Strong alignment to company culture and values
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently and with limited direction
  • Results oriented and determined in the face of a challenge
  • Ability to manage a team and influence customers to accomplish goals
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with management, peers, and across functions

SALES REPRESENTATIVE – Virginia

Duvel Moortgat USA is internationally recognized as a leader in the high-end luxury beer segment.  We are currently seeking a Sales Representative for Virginia.  This position will secure new business via direct sales and develop existing business via promotional execution and merchandising activities of the assigned distribution network.  Competitive salary, bonus, car allowance, medical/dental, 401k, and other benefits are available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the implementation of all sales and marketing programs for the entire portfolio
  • Motivate distributor sales force to achieve sales objectives
  • Focus on selling beers and/or upgrading number of beer lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores)
  • Identify accounts that are not being penetrated with Duvel USA beers and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts
  • Conduct wait-staff / bartender educations, beer tastings and beer dinners
  • Ensure proper merchandizing of on- and off-premise accounts
  • Plan and execute on-premise promotions as required (note: evenings; weekend festivals)
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key accounts both on and off-premise.
  • Work with local distributors to increase brand awareness and consumption
  • Be responsible for the allocation and use of point-of-sale materials
  • Collect data (e.g. pricing, distribution) as required
  • Compile and submit reports required for the sales division
  • Operate effectively within corporate and budgetary guidelines
  • Track and monitor progress in all identified accounts

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One to two years malt beverage experience, preferably with at least one year at a wine or beer distributor
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management, at wholesale as well as retail
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with limited amount of direction; ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct trainings/promotions

Staff Brewer

Brewery Ommegang-Duvel Moortgat USA is currently seeking a staff brewer with brewing experience to join our growing team in Cooperstown, NY. Competitive wages, medical/dental, 401k, and other benefits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily job duties including, but not limited to:  CIP,  malt milling, operating brew house, wort transfers, yeast pitching, fermentation monitoring, filtration, general cleaning, beer tasting.
  • Prepare filtered beer for packaging.
  • Start up and shut down of packaging operations.
  • Clean and sanitize packaging equipment (bottle/keg fillers).
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks to ensure a smooth work schedule.
  • Monitor essential facilities (i.e. steam boiler, water filters, etc.).
  • Follow established procedures for cleaning & sanitizing.
  • Follow established procedures for safe operation of all equipment.
  • Follow established procedures for safe operation of all equipment and working safely (i.e.- wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
  • Provide a safe, clean environment for brewery tourists.
  • Complete OSHA required training & comply with OSHA required policies (i.e. permit required confined spaces, lockout/tagout, etc).
  • Monitor inventory of brewing/filtering supplies, etc.
  • Comply with GBP (Good Brewing Practices) Food Safety Policies (i.e. hair restraints, beard nets, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Cover night/weekend shifts when required.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor to ensure a safe & effective work environment.
  • To a limited extent, the following may be required:  forklift operation, bottling line & packaging work, on & off site festival work, account visits, deliveries.
  • When necessary, overtime may be required.
