National Accounts Manager - East

Duvel Moortgat USA is currently seeking a National Accounts Manager for the Central Division.  This position will manage and direct sales and merchandising activities of the assigned chain accounts.  Ideal candidate will reside in one of the Midwestern states and within close proximity of a major airport. Competitive salary, bonus, car allowance, medical/dental, 401k, and other benefits are available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative long-term relationships with chain accounts both on and off-premise.
  • Build a deep understanding of Duvel Moortgat USA, our breweries, our beers, and our history.
  • Deliver Duvel USA chain account volume, revenue, and distribution sales goals.
  • Conduct analysis and develop presentations that increase Company feature and display activity, expands distribution and optimizes shelf position that increase volume and market share.
  • Motivate distributor management and sales force in order to achieve chain sales objectives, including the development and oversight of wholesaler programming.
  • Identify core accounts that are not being penetrated with Duvel USA products and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts.
  • Collect data on pricing, distribution, volume, and general market information; compile and submit reports required for the sales division.
  • Build annual chain account plans and benchmark and communicate progress.
  • Operate effectively within corporate and budgetary guidelines.
  • Conduct staff educations, beer tastings, and beer dinners (note: evening/weekends); train, schedule, and manage 3rd party sampling teams.
  • Ensure proper merchandizing of on- and off-premise chain accounts.
  • Be responsible for the allocation and use of all point-of-sale materials.
  • Work with local distributors to increase brand awareness and consumption in chain accounts.
  • Track and monitor progress in all identified accounts.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Three to Five years wine, liquor, or malt beverage experience, preferably with at least one year managing chain accounts
  • Must have a strong understanding of how chain accounts operate and how to build brands through distributors; established chain account contacts and relationships are considered an advantage
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with limited amount of direction; ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with various levels of management, at wholesale as well as retail; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct staff trainings, and evening/weekend functions

Staff Brewer

Brewery Ommegang-Duvel Moortgat USA is currently seeking a staff brewer with brewing experience to join our growing team in Cooperstown, NY. Competitive wages, medical/dental, 401k, and other benefits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily job duties including, but not limited to:  CIP,  malt milling, operating brew house, wort transfers, yeast pitching, fermentation monitoring, filtration, general cleaning, beer tasting.
  • Prepare filtered beer for packaging.
  • Start up and shut down of packaging operations.
  • Clean and sanitize packaging equipment (bottle/keg fillers).
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks to ensure a smooth work schedule.
  • Monitor essential facilities (i.e. steam boiler, water filters, etc.).
  • Follow established procedures for cleaning & sanitizing.
  • Follow established procedures for safe operation of all equipment.
  • Follow established procedures for safe operation of all equipment and working safely (i.e.- wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
  • Provide a safe, clean environment for brewery tourists.
  • Complete OSHA required training & comply with OSHA required policies (i.e. permit required confined spaces, lockout/tagout, etc).
  • Monitor inventory of brewing/filtering supplies, etc.
  • Comply with GBP (Good Brewing Practices) Food Safety Policies (i.e. hair restraints, beard nets, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Cover night/weekend shifts when required.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor to ensure a safe & effective work environment.
  • To a limited extent, the following may be required:  forklift operation, bottling line & packaging work, on & off site festival work, account visits, deliveries.
  • When necessary, overtime may be required.
